Dawn Ward

#fightlikedawn

Our first fundraiser will be for my friend, Dawn Ward, who only 3 weeks ago was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer.  She has a loving husband and a 9 month old baby boy as well as 3 older boys 15, 16 and 19 (the oldest in college at Texas Tech) and a step-daughter 16years old.  Everyone in the family is struggling with her diagnosis.  Some of her tests and a large portion of her chemotherapy has  not been covered by insurance.  She will soon have a radical mastectomy and needs our support.

The night we heard of her diagnosis we made Dawn and her husband neoprene huggers with a personal logo.  My husband and I were brought to tears after her husband and one of her best friends also had the logo tattooed on their ankles.  This was special to our family as Madison and I got matching tattoos after her first brain surgery.  Soon afterwards Madison’s sister, aunt, cousin and my best friend all got matching tattoos of lavender as a symbol of support.  We did this to assure Madi she is not fighting alone and she will be with us forever.  It was precious to see Dawn’s family and best friend following the same meaningful trend.

To support Dawn and her family during this time, we are asking our Lavender Llama family to purchase baseball caps with the same logo so we can donate the proceeds to her family and allow them to focus less on money and more on her healing. These baseball caps will be fitted and low profile with no mesh per Chris’ request 🙂 They will be in her beloved Dallas Cowboys colors of navy and gray with her pink ribbon and name on the front and #FIGHTLIKEDAWN on the back.  Dawn is beautiful on the outside as well as inside and, with your support, we are honored to help her family through this difficult time.
