Sara Jane is a 37 year old homemaker and philanthropist. She and her husband Chad are high school sweethearts and have three children. Their daughters Grace and Abby are 17 and 13, their son Orin is 10. Sara Jane sits on the Board of Directors for the non-profits Critter Crusaders, The Austin Woman’s Club and is the President-Elect for the Mothers’ Milk Bank at Austin. She loves the work that she does and enjoys volunteering within the community to help where she can.

Sara Jane was diagnosed with breast cancer on July 10, it was a huge blow to her family. Then unexpectedly Sara Jane lost her father on July 28.

On September 16 Sara Jane underwent a bilateral mastectomy with immediate DIEP flap reconstruction. This major and invasive surgery was Sara’s best chance to fight her cancer and eventually get back to a somewhat normal way of life however she has a long and painful recovery journey ahead of her.
